So in the end, it wasn't so much the scientific contribution but the philosophical contribution of the middle ages that helped start the scientific revolution. Either way, it is interesting to note things like castles, palaces, churches, cathedrals and monasteries from that time and how well built they are, which means that they had to had great knowledge in architecture, physics and mathematics to be able to build them.
